Armenia
In recent years, Armenia has made improvements in child healthcare, especially in reducing infant mortality rates and improving access to basic healthcare services. However, very few hospitals and surgeons are able to effectively treat complex cases of spina bifida and hydrocephalus.
With limited specialized care to address these conditions, Dr. Samvel Sargsyan at Sourb Astvatsmayr (“St. Mary’s”) Medical Centre in Yerevan asked NeuroKids to help bridge the gap in treating infants with the latest surgical approaches, including the Warf Method (ETV/CPC).
NeuroKids conducted its first in-country training in Armenia in September 2024. Our team will continue mentoring Dr. Sargsyan using remote presence technology until he is confident in treating the most complex cases in the country, establishing Sourb Astvatsmayr as the center of excellence in Armenia.
