Enugu, in southern Nigeria

June 28, 2022

We are thrilled to introduce our newest partner, Dr. Enoch Uche and the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH), in Enugu, Nigeria. Dr. Uche is a professor of neurosurgery and director of the neurosurgery residency training program at UNTH in Enugu, as well as a member of  the West African College of Surgeons (WACS) and several other prestigious global committees and congresses.

Dr. Uche

Over the next several months, Dr. Uche will begin his training with our team, culminating in an on-site visit early next year, with continued mentoring throughout 2023. It is estimated that over 10,000 babies are born with or acquire hydrocephalus every year in Nigeria. Along with Dr. Olufemi Bankole, one of the very first neurosurgeons trained in ETV/CPC by Dr. Warf over 15 years ago, and our friends at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital in the northern part of the country, Dr. Uche and his team at UNTH are positioned to bring accessible and quality care and treatment to thousands of Nigerian families with children suffering from hydrocephalus and spina bifida.
