Partnering with NeuroKids

NeuroKids understands the immense challenges in delivering high-quality surgical care for children with conditions like hydrocephalus and spina bifida, which is often more complicated in places where the demands are greater and the resources stretched.

Instead of surgeons leaving their countries for training, NeuroKids trains surgeons in their home hospitals, with their teams and tools, to optimize care for some of their sickest patients. Unlike traditional surgical education models, we then utilize today’s technology to progress their skills and decision-making through a remote mentoring program and real-time access to a global network of experts and resources.

Along with training and ongoing support, NeuroKids understands that most hospitals do not have the flexible endoscopes essential for the Warf Method (ETV/CPC). In most instances, we are able to subsidize the equipment costs through an exclusive relationship with the manufacturer, and, in some cases, we will donate the equipment to hospitals in the most austere environments.

As our founder, Dr. Benjamin Warf, has written, surgery is often the easy part. Helping families affected by hydrocephalus and spina bifida goes far beyond surgery. They often face terrible stigma and social isolation. Follow-up and support for patients and families is critical. We provide our partners with a clinical coordinator and a database to follow up with patients and track outcomes.
