Morocco
Children’s health in Morocco has improved in recent decades, yet notable disparities persist, particularly for pediatric surgical conditions. For families and young children with hydrocephalus and spina bifida, there remains a shortage of pediatric neurosurgeons, and even fewer trained in neuroendoscopy.
In 2023, NeuroKids initiated a partnership with the Rabat Reference Center at Mohammed V University. A hands-on training session was conducted with Dr. Yassaad Oudrhiri, a talented neurosurgeon from the National Center for Neuroscience and Rehabilitation.
In addition, our partner Karl Storz has provided endoscopy equipment to ensure that the team in Rabat has the equipment needed to treat children and families throughout Morocco. Today, with the support of our partners, the Rabat Reference Center at Mohammed V University is positioned to be one of the leading neurosurgery training centers in Morocco.
By equipping healthcare providers with the skills and resources they need, NeuroKids is expanding access to high-quality pediatric neurosurgical care, transforming the lives of children and families affected by hydrocephalus in Rabat and beyond. Through collaboration, innovation, and unwavering dedication, NeuroKids is paving the way for a brighter, healthier future for Morocco’s youngest generation.
