Our mission is to transform the lives of some of the most vulnerable children by creating centers of excellence providing high-quality neurosurgical care for under-served communities around the world.
Theory of Change
Life-saving surgical interventions dramatically alter the trajectories of children’s lives, which galvanizes medical professionals and community leaders to invest in evidence-based care for future generations, creating best-in-class access and facilities. This inspires hope for these kids and their families, fosters catalytic social and spiritual change, and elevates the sanctity of life. Underserved communities’ needs are met as children’s lives are saved and families experience real transformation.
Just as high-quality surgeries are an entry point for transforming the lives of children and families, training and mentoring surgeons is an entry point for transforming hospitals, health systems, communities and countries.
By 2026, we plan to have 20 regional centers around the world connecting neurosurgeons with the mentoring, equipment, and training necessary to make the best care accessible to all children with hydrocephalus, spina bifida, and other neurosurgically treatable conditions. With our model, we will create regional hubs from which to propagate networks in North & West Africa, the Middle East, Central & Southern Asia and South America, intentionally pursuing a self-replicating model that is not dependent on American involvement. With this design, we have the potential to reach more than 10,000 children in need of neurosurgical care by 2026.
The work of NeuroKids is driven by these four core values:
We focus on under-served children.
- Organizational Excellence
We are transparent, accountable, and outcome-oriented in everything we do.
We work with others in ways that are generous, humble, and open-minded, always seeking to offer practical benefit.
Our portable and repeatable model can easily expand in many different places.
